A Nursery Plan: The Finished Room

Thursday, August 2, 2012

I never posted the finished product, but I can say that the nursery was completed by the time Charlotte arrived! {Although she didn't stay in there for the first 2 months of life}

In case you missed them, here are some nursery posts from the old blog.

A Nursery Plan: Part 1

We have a regular Jenny Lind crib, and I painted it gold. It's a light, metallic gold. I believe it's Martha Stewart "Candlesticks" in the Precious Metals line. I got the idea for a gold crib from Erika at Urban Grace. I love it, and it's one of my favorite things in the nursery.

You can barely see, but the ceiling is painted Sherwin Williams Window Pane. It is a pale aqua. Same color that was used in the first Southern Living Idea House in Senoia. {There is a new idea house now, you should go check it out!}

We had carpet bound from Cleveland Carpet here in Griffin.

All of my crib bedding, and window treatments were custom made by a local lady.

I think this horse was one of my first Zulily purchases. I made him a new saddle and bridle to match the nursery. And yes, it's a him because he's the color of Duke.

This is my custom painting of the girls. Sophie & Savannah watch over the babe. I plan on letting this be Charlotte's painting through the years. It will go in any room that she's in.

Please ignore the board over the changing table. I now have a Sugarboo Designs print. Will post that later.

The little hooks from Scott's have been great for displaying cute things.

Close up of the roman shades. They have black out liners, and a pulley system so no lose cords hanging dangerously.

My Thibaut Designs fabric. This little french chair came from an estate sale. I think it cost $15, and I had it recovered in linen, and piped in aqua linen. The linen came from Lewis & Sheron in Atlanta.

I found this little metal shelf at Garden Ridge. Spray painted it aqua, and it's perfect for my old Peter Rabbit books.

These are old frames that I got in college. I printed the horse art, and the painting of the baby shoes is from a great friend of the family.

I also painted the back beadboard in the bookcase. It was very dark brown. I used leftover ceiling paint.

My rocker really does rock. It is so comfy, and the moroccan pouf {from Amazon} is the perfect height/size for rocking the babe.

A little crib close up. Shows the color better.

My Bla Bla mobile was the very first thing I bought for Charlotte. I still love it so much. {And all things Bla Bla}

I love how the paint is very thick and textured.

I saw the artist at the Mart last year. She had a fab painting of two sheep. I almost bought it for the nursery, but then learned that she would do custom.

Sweet bibs we received as shower gifts.

My changing table came from Scott's. It was built by a company here in Georgia. The hamper to the left is from Target. I also saw them on Urban Grace.

I hope you like Charlotte's nursery! It is very neutral, and calming. Did I mention she's a champion sleeper? Call me about designing a nursery to make your kid sleep. Just kidding...

Sarah - This is gorgeous! I may need your expertise once I am ready for pink or blue. Is your rocker one of your chairs? I need to talk to you about it. Also love the shelves, curtains, carpet and all! I may have to do someting similar :)
Thanks for sharing!
